Second Passport Cover Attempt
This attempt on the passport cover is a mixture of success and failure.
I think the embroidery on the cork turned out well. The picture shows how much less dense the design is after increasing the space between the stitches. Turns out this is important. Cork has no give to the weave like cotton. A high-density design becomes bullet proof which makes it difficult for the needle to penetrate the cork. I didn’t think I would like to be able to see the material between the stitches, but it adds to the design.
Unfortunately, the cork I have cracked when it was folded. This cork came from Hobby Lobby and has worked well on other projects we have used it for. I’ll have to do some research on what to look for when picking out cork material. For now, though I think I’m going to try a version of this project with vinyl. It should be more flexible.
